What this is
The Stoic Order is for those of us who choose to take an honest look at ourselves and our lives, and act on what we know we should be doing, not just talk or think about it. Together, we create a community of grounded, practical people with an unwavering daily commitment to the spiritual art of living life well.
This is not for everyone.
If that sounds like you… Welcome.
Excuse our mess

About The Stoic Order
The Stoic Order is a non-theistic religious community in Phoenix, Arizona, for people who want to put Stoicism to work in their own lives. We meet in person on the first and third Sunday of every month. Between meetings, members keep a daily meditation practice built on our 50 First Principles, a set of working rules for staying steady when life gets hard.
No deity is required. Our members come from many traditions, and some from none. Stoicism is a way of thinking grounded in logic, and it sits comfortably alongside any faith. We ask that you be honest with yourself and willing to do the work.
Nobody here is asked to follow a philosopher or a personality. The Order was founded to build a Stoic community that takes the spiritual side of daily practice seriously and looks after the people in it. It belongs to the people who show up.
Founded by Beau Magnum in 2025. The Stoic Order is a 501(c)(3) religious nonprofit. Read our full story →

Why I Won’t Call Myself Abbot
There’s a word on our founding paperwork that I don’t use. When you file for religious status in this country, the state would like to know who’s in charge, and […]
